Since its founding in 1939, and charter by the National
Society of Professional Engineers in 1956, MES has been
protecting and promoting the profession of
engineering as a social and economic influence
vital to the affairs of society and the
United States.
The Mississippi Engineering Society's members include professional (licensed)
engineers, engineer interns, engineering students, and experienced
graduate engineers from all disciplines of the profession. MES members
work in industry, government, private practice, construction, and
education.
MES functions on three-levels: local, state, and national. Each
autonomous level deals with problems and opportunities affecting
engineering practice and the public welfare in its area. Also,
at each level, the members directly elect all officers. A Board
of Directors sets overall policy.
Members of MES abide by the NSPE
Code of Ethics for Engineers and follow the Engineer's
Creed.. |
